Body of Light is based on a study of the human form and how bodies are shaped with highlights and shadows. It was my first studio set which I started shooting experimenting with various types of black and white film in 35mm, medium format and some digital images. I have always loved the contrast of black and white and for this series I used a friends darkroom and processed my own film for the first time. These original images were printed on RC fiber paper by Ilford and then I had the film negatives scanned to be able to make limited edition digital prints available. Some of these images are still my favorite that I ever created, there were my first love so to speak and I will always treasure the memory of those days inviting friends, not professional models, into my studio for “experimental shoots”…Needless to say I had many friends asking to be my lighting assistants.
